Kathmandu- Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said Falgun 7 is the glorious day in Nepal’s history.  It marks the establishment of democracy with the end of autocratic Rana regime in 2007 BS, he added.

Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Democracy Day today, Vice President Pun said, “The new constitution written by the Constituent Assembly has already established the federal democratic republic, secularism, social justice and proportional representation on the basis of various people’s movements. In the message, he however said it was not good that people expecting development and prosperity with the new constitution were facing uncertainty. ”

At a time when the country is observing the Democracy Day, it is sad that country is facing difficult moment in the wake of dissolution of House of Representatives,” he stated.

He wished the Democracy Day inspired everyone to implement and protect constitution and democratic achievements. RSS

Seven persons were killed and four others were injured in a road mishap at Sisne rural municipality-5 of Rukum (East) district today.  The deceased have been identified as Buddhiraj Pun, 31, Kumar Pun, 35, Kiran Pun, 22 of Putha Uttarganga rural municipality-1, Trisana Tulachan, 28, of Uttarganga rural municipality-12, Chhalana Barma, 30, of Uttarganga rural municipality-14, Arjun BK, 28, of Bhume rural municipality and Lalita Pariyar, 22, of Kohalpur, Banke.  According to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Prabinlal Shrestha, the accident took place when a jeep (Lu 1 Ja 2573) heading towards Lukumgadh from Rukumkot fell some 200 meters off the road.  Similarly, Jaybir Kami, 52, of Musikot municipality of Rukum (West), Pramila Budhamagar, 25, of Putha Uttarganga rural municipality-11, Dhaniram Pun, 27, of Maikot and Samjhana Punmagar, 27, were injured in the accident and they have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.
