Kathmandu–  The commencement ceremony of China Aid Kathmandu Durbar High School (Bhanu Secondary School) Reconstruction Project was held in Kathmandu. Mrs. Yu Hong Chinese Ambassador  to Nepal  and Minister of Education, Science ant Technology Mr. Giriraj Mani Pokhrel attended to the  ceremony and unveiled the Project.

Other attending guests include: Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of China to Nepal Mr. Zhang Fan, Secretary of Ministry of Education, Science ant Technology Mr. Khagaraj Baral, Principal of Durbar High School Mr. Hem Chandra Mahato and Representatives from relevant ministries and departments of the Government of Nepal, representatives of Chinese Project construction Teams, represntatives of Chinese Enterprise Association in N epoal and other China Aid Projects in Nepal were Also participated.

Ambassador Yu Hong said in her speech that Prime Minister  Oli’s recent successful visit to china opened a new chapter for the nepal china  comprehensive partnership partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship.

The Chinese government will continue to provide help to Nepal’s economic and social development within its capacity,  promote post-disaster reconstruction projects actively, provide more government scholarships and training opportunities for the Nepal side. Strengthen exchanges and cooperation in education, and people-to-people relations, and wish Nepal to realize the goal of ‘Samriddha Nepal, Sukhi Nepal’ as soon as possible.

Ambassador Yu Hong expressed hopes that the school construction will be supported to cooperated by all related sides, and requested to the constructor to complete the construction with high quality so that the students  can learn and grow in a save and comfortable environment soon. Ambassador Yu Hong further expressed that the school will become a new carrier of China-Nepal friendship.

Minister Pokhrel thanked the Chinese government for its strong supports and assistance to Nepal’s economic and social development, especially in the field of education, science and technology.

The bulding of Kathmandu Durbar High School was badly damaged in the 2015 earthquake and could not be used further. The Kathmandu Durbar High School Reconstruction Project is one of the 25 China post-disaster reconstruction project in Nepal.

It has a construction area of totally 4200 square meters, 4 stores and more than a 40 class rooms designed by China Aviation Planning and Design Institute, and will constructed by Shanghai Construction Group co. ltd. with project during 20 month.
