Kathmandu – The Yamaha Blue Streaks Motorcycle Community has extended humanitarian support to flood-affected families in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, turning its passion for motorcycling into a community-driven relief initiative.
Following the sudden flash flood that struck Rasuwa on Bhadra 10, damaging bridges and flooding homes, Blue Streaks members came together to support families struggling with the loss of access to basic necessities.
The riders collectively raised approximately NPR 93,000 through contributions from Blue Streaks members. Maintaining transparency throughout the campaign, the group publicly shared its donor list, with contributions collected through both cash and online donations.
The funds were used to purchase essential relief supplies, including rice, lentils, bottled water and sanitary products such as sanitary pads. Members worked through heavy rain to pack the supplies before transporting them to the affected areas in a convoy of motorcycles, accompanied by a vehicle carrying additional relief materials.
Speaking about the initiative, Deepak Kumar Agrawal, Executive Director and CEO of MAW Rides Pvt. Ltd., said, “Our riders don’t just ride together, we give back together. From CSR activities across Nepal to moments like this, our motto has always been ‘Ride for Pride.’ Blue Streaks will continue standing by society whenever we are needed.”
The relief materials were distributed at a holding center established at Shree Sundari Keurini Secondary School in Nuwakot. Blue Streaks members met directly with flood victims, including elderly residents and children, providing essential supplies as well as emotional support and encouragement.
As recovery efforts continue in the flood-affected areas, the initiative by Yamaha Blue Streaks demonstrates how a shared passion can be transformed into meaningful social action, reaching vulnerable families when they need support the most.
