Kathmandu- Thee GO and Gham Power have signed a strategic Term Sheet to jointly develop a Solar-Powered Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at thee GO ChargePoint in Itahari, marking another significant step toward strengthening Nepal’s clean and sustainable energy infrastructure.
The partnership aims to integrate solar power generation with advanced battery energy storage technology to improve the efficiency of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure while reducing dependence on the national electricity grid during peak demand periods. The initiative also supports Nepal’s growing electric mobility ecosystem and the country’s transition to renewable energy.
Under the project, excess solar energy generated during the day will be stored in the Battery Energy Storage System and used to power EV chargers when electricity demand is high or solar generation is low. The integrated system is expected to enhance energy reliability, optimize electricity consumption, and increase the use of renewable energy in EV charging operations.
Speaking on the collaboration, Nabin Adhikari, Business Head – Integrated Energy Solutions at thee GO, said the partnership with Gham Power represents another important milestone in the company’s mission to build Nepal’s most sustainable EV ecosystem.

According to the companies, the project is expected to serve as a model for future renewable-powered EV charging stations across Nepal. By utilizing locally generated solar power and intelligent energy storage, the initiative is expected to reduce carbon emissions, improve grid stability, lower operational costs, and ensure uninterrupted charging services for EV users.
