Kathmandu — Following the death of Nepali student Prinsa Shah at KIIT University in Odisha, India, the Indian government has expressed sorrow over the incident and stated that it is in constant coordination with the Odisha state government.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs conveyed deep condolences over Shah’s passing. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic demise of the Nepali student at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar,” the statement read. India also extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

According to the statement, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has been in regular contact with the Odisha state government since the incident came to light and has ensured that the deceased’s family is being provided with all necessary support. Odisha Police is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.

“The Government of India is fully committed to the safety, welfare, and well-being of all international students,” the release added. “We are in close coordination with Nepali authorities, the Odisha government, and the KIIT University administration regarding this incident.”
