Nepal secures 87th position in international women volleyball ranking

Nepal has achieved 87th position in the world ranking of women volleyball unveiled by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). The FIVB is the supreme body of the world volleyball. As per the ranking chart issued today, National Women Volleyball Team has been placed in the 87th position with 57 points. The ranking is based on the international participation and results. The Nepali Women Volleyball Team had won the title of AVC Asian Central Zone Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship held in Bangladesh in November, 2019. The achievement was historic. Nepal had won the historic silver medal in women’s volleyball held under the recent 13th South Asian Games. Southern neighbor India is in the 54th position with 97 points while the northern neighbour China is in the topmost position with the 391 points followed by the USA (second) with 382 points and Brazil (third) with 328 points. Other countries included in the top ten positions are Italy, Turkey, Serbia, Japan, Russia, Dominican Republic and South Korea.
