The programme is primarily targeted at those senior citizens and people with disabilities who are not in the position of visiting health facilities to receive healthcare services. Under the programme, targets groups will be rendered services upon reaching their doorsteps. The programme to be launched as a model would be expanded to a larger scale next year if it turns out to be effective. Procedures have begun to hire workforce necessary towards that end. In the current fiscal, Rs three million has been allocated for the programme implementation. During first phase, the programme will cover 29 local levels selected on the basis of the size of the population of senior citizens and people with disabilities, it is said.
