Kathmandu- Ncell has partnered with the Nepal Association of Travel Operators (NATO) to strengthen mobile connectivity for international tourists travelling across Nepal.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta and NATO President Bishwesh Shrestha at an event held at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Thursday.
Under the partnership, Ncell will provide mobile connectivity services to international travellers, while NATO will use its extensive network of travel operators to raise awareness about Ncell’s connectivity services among tourists visiting Nepal.
Speaking at the event, Ncell’s Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta said the partnership would help make reliable connectivity a seamless part of the travel experience for tourists across Nepal. He added that the collaboration would also contribute to promoting the #NepalCalling campaign and positioning Nepal as a major tourist destination.
NATO President Bishwesh Shrestha said tourism is fundamentally about connecting people, cultures and experiences. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would help ensure tourists remain connected with their families and friends throughout their journey in Nepal.
The partnership also extends beyond mobile connectivity. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through the Ncell Foundation, Ncell will support NATO in establishing modern Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities along major highway routes.
The initiative will begin with a pilot project in Gajuri, Dhading, with the aim of improving sanitation facilities for tourists and local communities travelling along major tourism and highway corridors.
The two organisations said the initiative reflects their shared commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism development in Nepal.
