The initiative aims to provide localized banking solutions by recognizing the unique cultural identity and financial needs of each province while promoting greater financial inclusion.
Under the scheme, the bank has introduced seven specialized savings accounts: Koshi Bachat Khata for Koshi Province, Mithila Bachat Khata for Madhesh Province, Bagmati Bachat Khata for Bagmati Province, Phewa Bachat Khata for Gandaki Province, Buddha Bhumi Bachat Khata for Lumbini Province, Rara Bachat Khata for Karnali Province, and Khaptad Bachat Khata for Sudurpashchim Province.
To encourage digital banking and support customers in building long-term financial security, the accounts offer several value-added benefits. These include free mobile banking, free internet banking, and a free Visa debit card for the first year, along with complimentary DEMAT and MeroShare account registration for the first year, among other features.
NMB Bank said the nationwide rollout reflects its continued commitment to expanding financial inclusion, promoting paperless digital banking, and delivering customized banking solutions that cater to customers in every region of Nepal.
The bank currently operates 198 branches, 176 ATMs, and nine extended counters across the country and says it remains focused on advancing green innovation while providing accessible and customer-centric financial services.
