Kathmandu- The ‘Omicron’ variant of the corona virus spread from South Africa has also been confirmed in Nepal.

The Ministry of Health and Population said in a press conference today that two people have been confirmed to be infected with the virus.

According to the ministry, the 66-year-old foreigner who entered Nepal with a full dose of the vaccine against the virus and a PCR report was negative, and the 71-year-old who came in contact with him showed an Omicron variant.

However, their health condition remained normal, the ministry said.
