Bhimdattanagar – Curfew order has been imposed at Bhimdatta municipality of Kanchanpur.

Tensions have run high here since the murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Pant of Kholti of Bhimdatta municipality-2. Her body was retrieved from a sugarcane field on July 27.

The municipality has been under the curfew order for few days, following the death of a 14-year-old boy in police firing in course of the public protest against the murder of Nirmala. The curfew imposed at various places of ward nos 4, 6 and 18 was earlier lifted for five hours and the new order has come into force from 10:00 am today.

As stated by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Krishna Ojha, the curfew shall remain into effect until the next order.  (RSS)
