Lahan– People of Kajarnaha Municipality in Siraha resorted to a chakkajam (forced traffic jam) at Bastipur along the East-West Highway today, in protest of the alleged assault on the municipality employee by mayor Ganga Paswan.
The mayor has been accused of misbehaving with and beating up municipality employee Baliram Yadav. Likewise, the mayor has been charged with exerting unnecessary work pressure on employees.
The Kajarnha folks imposed the chakkajam for half an hour from 8:00 am.
Police intervened in the protest to resume the traffic. Municipality administration chief Yadav has claimed that he was assaulted by the mayor as he resisted to his mayor’s pressure to make a payment for the purchase of a construction vehicle JCB without a vat bill.
Local and Naya Shakti Party leader, Prabhat Mahato, said they decided to organise the chakkaham, demanding action against the mayor. RSS
