The doctors have decided on fighting the theft of intellectual property following new researches in the medical sector with a united front.

At a two day training held by AO Alliance Foundation – an umbrella organization of orthopaedic surgeons – in Kathmandu, participating medical practitioners discussed on ways to stop the theft of new researched findings.

The doctors decided on forging a united front to stop the theft of intellectual property citing the weak implementation of the legal provisions to punish and black list individuals. Doctors also deliberated on code of conduct to be enforced during the research works.

Programme coordinator Dr Ramesh Prasad Singh called for unity among the doctors to end what he termed as a trend of copy pasting the research work developed after years of investigation and keeping such data.

During the training held on May 25 and 26, two expert teams from India and one each from Switzerland and Pakistan took part to encourage the doctors to engage in new creative researches and stop the theft of intellectual property.
