Kathmandu, May 16 (RSS): A Standing Committee meeting of the CPN (UML) has determined that the party unification process with the CPN (Maoist Centre) has reached to a decisive point.

The meeting also decided to wait for the meeting of Party Unification Coordination Committee for the announcement of the party unification.

Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli held meeting with CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today and informed the Standing Committee meeting that the party unification would be held within a few days, said CPN (UML) Secretary and Foreign Minister, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.

An emergency meeting of central committee would approve the party unification date if the coordination committee meeting called for tomorrow morning finalized the date for the same.

An agreement has already been reached over the issues including name of party—Nepal Communist Party, ideology to be adopted after the party unification, and turn-by-turn leadership (co-chairman).

During the Standing Committee meeting, leaders also put forth their suggestions on the government’s upcoming policies, programmes and budget.
