Concerned authorities have stressed the need for changing the foreign employment act and related laws with changing situation to manage and respect foreign employment.
Speaking at a dialogue programme ‘Policy Dialogue: State and Business Accountability on Recruitment Abuses’ organised jointly today here by the Amnesty International Nepal and the Pravasi Nepali Coordination Committee (PNCC), Director for the Department of Foreign Employment Bhuvan Prasad Acharya stressed the need for amending the existing act related to foreign employment as it cannot address problems in the sector.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rabindra Prasad Sharma told of a sad story of country’s youths being forced or lured into human trafficking under various pretexts.
Secretary of Amnesty International Som Lamichhane stressed the need for expanding foreign employment to local levels to eradicate related problems.
