More than 600 PWDs receive ID card

Rasuwa –Distribution of identity cards to facilitate the services provided by the state to the people with disabilities (PWDs) has been carried out. So far, 625 PWDs including 371 women in Rasuwa have received the ID cards. The ID card distribution is being carried out in coordination with the Rasuwa Disabled Rehabilitation Centre. As per latest estimates there are around 1,000 PWDs living in Rasuwa district. “We are working with the local level governments to make the PWDs self-reliant,” chair of the centre Gambhir Man Lo said. The data collection is being carried out to identify people living with disabilities in the district and collect the real census of the disabled population. The National Disabled Federation is also collaborating in the district-wide initiative. So far, 300 PWDs were identified in Uttargaya rural municipality and 139 in Gosaikunda rural municipality, said programme officer Tshering Lama. Likewise, in collaboration with Handicap International, health, education, social security and livelihood programmes are being carried out in the Gosaikunda region. Bhagarathi rape and murder Accused Dinesh reaches Juvenile Correctional Institution

Baitadi: Accused Dinesh Bhatt, who was killed after raping Bhagarathi Bhatt of Chadepani in Dogadakedar Village Municipality-7, has been brought to Doti Juvenile Correctional Institution for amend. According to District Police Office Inspector Kantiraj Joshi, he was brought to the Juvenile Correctional Institution on Thursday. The district court in Baitadi has ordered to keep Dinesh in the correctional facility for amend as he is 16 years old and he has been kept in the correctional facility at Silgadhi in Doti. Bhagarathi, a class 12 student of Sanatan Dharma Secondary School in Chadepani of Dogadakedar Gaupalika 7 of Baitadi has been accused of raping and killing by Dinesh. Kathmandu: Dharamshala of Budhanilkantha temple is about to be rebuilt.
