Kathmandu- Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited and Nepal Youth Council have invites upon the youth to participate in the Idea Pitching Competition. Bottlers, the official bottling partner of the Coca-Cola Company in Nepal, will provide seed funding for the new competition in collaboration with the Nepal Youth Council. According to the company, the contestant will have to submit his / her opinion on the topic of ‘Youth Engagement in Climate Action Initiative’. India Hand Over Flood relief Materials

Birgunj- The Indian Embassy has provided temporary relief goods. During a ceremony on Wednesday, Consul General of the Embassy Nitesh Kumar handed over relief items to Member of Parliament and President of the Nepal-India Women Friendship Society (NIWFS). These included tents, family rigid tents (single and double), plastic seats and sleeping backs. Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhary expressed her gratitude to the Government of India for its assistance and said that the relief items would be distributed to the families of the six flood-hit districts of State-2. “Considering the recent floods and loss of life and property, the entire consignment will be distributed through Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha in coordination with the local administration through NIWFS,” she said. Province 1 CM Acharya loses majority after six days of appointment

Birat Anupam, Province 1– With formal defection of 10 Provincial Assembly (PA) members to the newly formed CPN (United Socialist), CPN (UML)’s Chief Minister (CM) Bhim Acharya’s cabinet has lost its majority on Wednesday afternoon. On 26 August, Acharya was chosen as the Parliamentary Party Leader of CPN (UML) with commands 51 of 93-member PA members and was sworn in as the second CM of the province in the same day. On 27 August, Acharya has appointed Laxman Tiwari , a directly elected PA member from Tehrathum and Balbahadur Samsohang , a directly elected PA member from Taplejung, as the ministers for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and Social Development respectively. Just after six days, 10 PA members of erstwhile CPN (UML) have defected to CPN (United Socialist). They include Sabitri Regmi, Khinu Langwa Limbu, Ganesh Kangwang, Krishna Kumari Rai, Upendra Ghimire, Sunita Chaudhary, Sarita Thapa, Padam Kumari Gurung, Rajan Rai and Rajendra Rai. With this defection, the 51 PA members of CPN (UML) has reduced to 41. To retain majority, requires 47 members, for which CM Acharya is short of six members.
