Kathmandu- Ncell Axiata Limited has won ‘Telecom Company of the Year’ and ‘Infrastructure Initiative of the Year’ awards at the 2022 Asian Telecom Awards. The company was recognized with these prestigious awards for its remarkable performance and establishment of the Integrated Data Centre (IDC). The Asian Telecom Awards traces its heritage from Asian Mobile News started in 2003 in Singapore. The awards programme recognises the outstanding achievements and initiatives of Asia’s leading telecom companies. Winners of the awards under various categories were recognized via digital presentations. Kathmandu- Hon’ble Minister for Communications and Information Technology of the Government of Nepal, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of India, Namgy C. Khampa jointly inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital building constructed in Shadananda Municipality of Bhojpur District with the financial assistance of the Government of India. The inauguration ceremony was attended by embassy officials and local government representatives. Built at a cost of Nepali Rupees 22.6 million, the project is one of 75 projects to be inaugurated in Nepal this year under the “Amrit Mahotsav of Independence” initiated by the Government of India to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. This hospital will provide better access to quality healthcare to the people of Bhojpur district and other surrounding districts. The 15-bed hospital has maternity ward, 24-hour emergency medical examination room, pediatric ward, operating room, waiting room, pathology lab, doctor’s and nurse’s room, separate toilet for women and visitors and furniture and hospital equipment to provide better health care to the people. Kathmandu- The second meeting of the project monitoring committee under construction in Nepal-India cooperation has been concluded. The second meeting of the Project Monitoring Committee was held in Kathmandu on Monday to discuss the Nepal-India Friendship Polytechnic Foundation under construction in Hetauda with the support of the Government of India. The meeting was co-chaired by Kamal Prasad Pokhrel, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Government of Nepal and Satish Sivan, Joint Secretary, Development Partnership Administration Division, Ministry of External Affairs, India. The overall implementation aspect and progress of the project was reviewed in the meeting. The committee has directed the contractors and consultants to complete the project on time.
