Kathmandu- The foundation stone for the construction of a school building at Shree Janata Secondary School in Surunga Municipality, Saptari District, has been laid with the financial assistance of the Government of India.
This project will involve the construction of a three-story school building along with other associated facilities.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was jointly conducted by Nepal’s Honorable Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Teju Lal Chaudhary, Mayor of Surunga Municipality, Mrs. Geeta Chaudhary, and Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Ms. Garima Nautiyal.
The Government of India is funding the construction of this school building under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ with a project cost of NPR 27.6 million. This project is expected to make a significant contribution to providing quality education to the students of Surunga Municipality and its schools.
Since 2003, the Government of India has supported over 563 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal, which have helped in the development of infrastructure across various sectors in the country.
