Kathmandu- The opposition parties comprising the CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and the CPN (Unified Socialist), among others, have decided to jointly submit a memorandum to the government.

The meeting of the opposition parties held at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor today forged an understanding to submit to the government a memo incorporating the various contemporary issues of public concerns, said leader of CPN (Unified Socialist), Rajendra Pandey.

The meeting, called by CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, also took the decision to draw government’s attention on preparedness in the face of landslide and flood as well as on the search, rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of disaster hit people.

CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Shakti Bahadur Basnet shared that discussion was held on various contemporary issues in the meeting. “Mainly, consensus has been forged to drew government’s attention on the issues of public concerns and submit a memo from the opposition parties,” he added.

CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson, Madhav Kumar Nepal, leaders Mahantha Thakur and Prabhu Sah, and RSP Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane and Vice-Chairpersons DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle and leaders Shisir Khnal, Sumana Shrestha and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha were present in the meeting.
