Kathmandu – Today, neighbor country India is celebrating the 75th Republic Day. This year’s Republic Day is being celebrated with great fanfare with the slogans of ‘Developed India’ and ‘India-Mother of Democracy’.

On the occasion of Republic Day, India has invited French President Emmanuel Macron as the chief guest.

Preparations for the parade will start from 10:30 am, and keeping in mind the hospitality of President Macro, the government has tightened security arrangements in Delhi. For which 14 thousand security personnel are deployed.

India was declared a republic on this day in 1950. India became independent from the British colony on August 15, 1947. But with the promulgation of the Constitution on January 26, 1950, India was declared a sovereign, democratic and republican nation.

The Constitution adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on November 26, 1949 replaced the ‘Government of India Act, 1935’ and ushered in the era of the Republic of India.

Since then, India has been celebrating the Republic Day on January 26 every year. The constitution has established a democratic system, including the ability of Indian citizens to choose their own government.
