Kathmandu- Nepal-India joint military exercise in Pithoragarh, India has started from Friday.

In the 17th edition of the joint exercise of the Nepali Army and the Indian Army, Suryakiran, 354 members of the Tara Dal Gana of the Nepali Army and 354 members of the Kumaon Gana of the Indian Army are participating under the leadership of Subas KC, the chief soldier of the Tara Dal Gana of the Nepali Army. Every year there is a military exercise between Nepal and India. The exercise was held in Rupandehi’s Saljhandi last December.

Under this exercise, which will be conducted until 07th December, humanitarian aid mobilization and disaster management in extreme situations, hilly and difficult places, preparedness to be adopted by the forces working for peacekeeping at the call of the United Nations, medical training, various aspects of air service and aviation, environmental protection, counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism, including forests. Practical knowledge about martial arts will be given.

The Nepali Army believes that bilateral military exercises will contribute to strengthening the century-old friendly relations between Nepal and India and to address the cooperation, partnership and common security interests of the armies of both countries.
