Kathmandu – Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka had a courtesy meeting with the members of the tour group led by Air Vice Marshal Manish Kumar Gupta, senior director of India’s National Defense College (NDC).

In a meeting at the Ministry of Defense today, Deputy Prime Minister Khadka stated that the UN Charter, Non-Alignment, Panchsheel, International Law and the values of world peace are the foundations of Nepal’s foreign policy operations and mentioned that sovereign equality, territorial integrity, mutual interest and mutual benefit guide Nepal’s foreign relations.

He said that Nepal has made a special contribution to international peace and security by participating in the United Nations peacekeeping mission.

He said that the need for defense-related studies cannot be met by ordinary educational institutions, so the need for defense-related study institutions has been realized in Nepal as well in the context of the establishment and operation of related institutions in various countries.

Air Vice Marshal of India, who led the delegation, thanked them for organizing and facilitating the event. He said that the diplomatic relations between Nepal and India and the coordination between the Nepali Army and the Indian Army are smooth.

On this occasion, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the officials of the Indian Embassy in Nepal and the officers of the Nepali Army were also present.
