Kathmandu– The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has demanded for the early appointment of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Issuing a statement today, NBA general-secretary Anjita Khanal called for appointment of Chief Justice at the apex court and justices in all other courts.

“There is a situation of eroding public trust towards overall judiciary in lack of leadership in the courts due to delay in the appointment of CJ at the apex court”, reads the statement. It further noted, “The service recipients are deprived of accessing their constitutionally guaranteed right to receive justice when there is no fulfilment of justices across the country”.

The NBA has also called for ending anomalies propping up in judiciary and initiating the automated case management system.

Khanal informed that pressure creating programme would be launched on April 30 to have their demands addressed at the earliest.
