Kathmandu– Kathmandu Metropolitan City has collected Rs 6.49 billion revenue till April 13 of the current fiscal year. It was 62.33 per cent of the target amount. Chief of KMC Revenue Departmnet, Dhurba Kafle, said Rs 5.97 billion revenue was collected during corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

It was up by Rs 1.40 billion as compared to corresponding period of previous fiscal year, he added. The KMC has set a target of collecting Rs 10.41 billion revenue in the current fiscal year.

It has collected highest revenue from property tax during the period which is Rs 794 million. The KMC has been collecting revenue under 36 different headings including property, business, advertisement, entertainment and vehicle tax.

Kafle shared that although problem was surfaced in collecting revenue in previous years due to coronavirus, KMC would not face any problem to collect the revenue as per the target this year.
