Kathmandu – The Indian Embassy has organized a marathon to promote the concept of Life for Investment (LIFE). The embassy has organized a 5 km long run in the Pashupati Temple complex on Saturday as part of the ‘Azadi Amrit Mahotsav’.

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati and Indian Ambassador to Nepal His Excellency Naveen Srivastava inaugurated the race program by showing the flag. Thousands of people including artist Pradip Khadka, mountaineers Poornima Shrestha and Kalpana Maharjan and Nepal’s first ‘Iron Man’ title winner Alok Khatri participated in the hundred race.

The top male and female runners who completed the race were jointly honored by Minister Kirati and Ambassador Srivastava with life medals and plants made of recycled metal.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Srivastava expressed his belief that the people of India and Nepal will join hands in saving the earth by adopting an environment-friendly lifestyle.

In October 2022, Indian Prime Minister Modi in the presence of the Secretary General of the United Nations, His Excellency Antonio Guterres, launched the LIFE concept to promote the joint efforts and contributions of individuals, families and communities against climate change.
