Rupandehi- Federal Council Chair of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Dr Baburam Bhattarai has stressed on steering the country ahead towards lasting peace and transformation by maintaining national unity.

Speaking in a press meet organized by the Janata Samajbadi Party Rupandehi in Butwal today, he said creating an alternative force is the need of the hour for the country’s prosperity and change in the living standard of the people. The former Prime Minister asserted that the country would get an outlet only with the formation of a central socialist force. Stating that people are despondent and confusion has arisen in the lack of an economic, social and cultural change in the country, leader Bhattarai suggested moving ahead by forging unity among the political forces in a new way would be the best alternative.

He also expressed concern over the erosion of democratic norms and values in the country and the power centric politics of the parties. Bhattarai said that the crisis on the Supreme Court was an example of this trend. He also accused the ‘old political parties’ of taking the people for a ride spreading lies. Leader Bhattarai advocated for a new socialist model for safeguarding the national unity and sovereignty, stressing the need of forming a forward-looking political force for the same.

Party’s senior leader Ashok Rai said the party has initiated a four-month organization strengthening campaign for changing the living standard of the people. Leader Rai said the party will take its thoughts and strategies to the people and also listen to their views in course of the campaign.
