Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, has expressed worry over the activities that were jeopardizing democracy and country. At a condolence gathering organized on the seventh day of the passing away of NC central member and former minister Nabindra Raj Joshi at Devghat on Thursday, senior leader Poudel said the uncertainty was taking toll on Nepal casting further chaos.

“Currently, sheer uncertainty is afflicting the country. It is a bad omen for democracy,” he reminded. He reminded that country at present was in need of able, honest and devoted leader like Joshi. “How can we fulfill the need of such committed leader,” he wondered, expressing grief over the demise of leader Joshi. Country and people were top priority of the late leader, Poudel added. Various leaders of the party from Tanahu, Dhading, and Chiwan highlighted the role of late leader Joshi in Nepali politics and democracy.

After the programme, the bodily remains (astu) of the late leader Joshi was released at Devghat- Beni confluence of Narayani River- as per the wish of Joshi’s mother.
