The Kathmandu Police arrested five persons alongside over one million pieces facemasks they were dealing to sell on the black market. Police have intensified a search against the black-marketing of daily essentials and emergency goods including the facemask lately. According to Kathmandu police chief Uttam Raj Subedi, police seized the masks along with a vehicle (Ba 7 Cha 7263) at Milanchok near Kapan in Kathmandu on Sunday evening. The arrestees are Tekram Shrestha, 30, of Okhaldhunga; Sanjay Regmi, 34, of Bara; Ajim Bax Miya, 26 of Chitwan; RDG International Suppliers’ proprietor Suraj Goyal, 24 of Kathmandu and the same company’s co-founder Indian national Suvas Maheshwari, 37. Police shared that they were found running the shop depot in a rented house in Chandragiri municiplaity-10. They were found to have been selling each piece of facemask at Rs 31 against its actual price of Rs 3.25, police added.
