Materializing martyrs’ dream a true tribute, says NC leader Singh

Nepali Congress (NC) central member and former deputy prime minister Prakash Man Singh has stressed the need to put continuous efforts from all sides to materialize the dream of martyrs. Inaugurating the third Byas town ultra marathon organized by Byas municipality here today on the occasion of Martyr Day, he lauded the martyrs’ contributions to make the democratic and republic movements the grand success. “Many martyrs had laid down their lives for the 1950 revolution, movement for reinstatement of democracy and establishment of republic in the country”, leader Singh said. “Materializing their dream would be a true tribute to the martyrs”. Also speaking on the occasion, Byas municipality mayor Baikuntha Neupane shared that the ultra marathon was organized to contribute to promote tourism through sports. “We are hopeful that the ultra marathon would help connect Magar’s village Manahun and Gurung’s village Pulimarang”, he further said. Total 70 athletes from across the country are participating in the 44-km-long marathon. According to the host, the winner will receive cash prize Rs 81,076 while first runner up will get Rs 61,076 and second runner up Rs 51,076.
