Flood survivors receive relief support

Besisahar– People’s representatives here have donated their remuneration as relief support to the flood survivors of Marsyangdi rural municipality.

The rural municipality executive committee meeting on Monday decided that the people’s representatives would donate their 15-day allowance to the flood survivors. The amount will be deposited in the disaster management fund to be distributed to the flood survivors, according to the rural municipality chair Arjun Gurung.

A total of 19 families have been displaced from their homes in recent floods and landslides in the rural municipality. Four people were killed while 11 were injured. One person is still missing.

Furthermore, the teachers of schools within the rural municipality have also decided to donate their one day’s salary. There are around 400 teachers working in community and institutional schools in the rural municipality. RSS
