Kathmandu- As Nepal accelerates its digital transformation with the implementation of the National AI Policy and the establishment of the National AI Centre, the World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB) organized a keynote program titled “AI for Humanity: Navigating the Great Societal Challenges of the AI Age” at The Soaltee in Kathmandu.

Addressing the event, Dr. Sanjay Pradhan, President of WFEB, highlighted the immense opportunities and emerging challenges that artificial intelligence presents for Nepal. He said AI has the potential to accelerate national development, improve governance, and empower young people, while emphasizing that its development must remain ethical, responsible, and centered on protecting human dignity, democratic values, and human agency.

Drawing on his global experience in governance and ethical leadership, Dr. Pradhan stressed that ethics and innovation are complementary rather than competing forces. He said countries that combine technological excellence with ethical leadership will be best positioned to succeed in the AI era.

Dr. Pradhan also invited Nepal to become one of the first countries to host a National AI for Humanity Forum following WFEB’s Global Summit in November 2026. The proposed forum would bring together government leaders, businesses, academia, civil society, and youth to shape an inclusive and ethical AI future.

“The future of AI is ultimately a human story. Whether AI becomes humanity’s greatest opportunity or one of its greatest risks will depend not on technology, but on the wisdom, values, and leadership with which we choose to guide it,” Dr. Pradhan said.

The event began with welcome remarks by Neeva M. Pradhan, Coordinator for AI for Humanity at WFEB and Director of Corporate Programs at AOL Nepal, who also delivered the vote of thanks. Siddheshwar K. Singh, Chairman of Art of Living Nepal, honored Dr. Pradhan with a token of appreciation, while the session was moderated by Tenzing Sonam Gonsar, CEO of Team Ventures. Former chairpersons, members, and supporters of Art of Living Nepal also attended the program.

WFEB’s connection with Nepal dates back to 2016, when Art of Living Nepal hosted the organization’s first satellite conference in the country, attracting more than 750 participants and marking a significant milestone in promoting ethical leadership and global dialogue in Nepal.
