Kathmandu – Artudio is pleased to present Textile Scripts, a contemporary Lithuanian textile art exhibition opening on April 16, 2026, at its Patan Wing in Lalitpur. The exhibition features the works of four distinguished artists—Laima Oržekauskienė-Ore, Monika Žaltauskaitė Grašienė-Žaltė, Lina Jonikė, and Gerda Liudvinavičiūtė—whose practices expand and challenge the boundaries of textile within contemporary art discourse.

Curated by Odeta Žukauskienė, Textile Scripts reimagines textile as a living, sensorial, and conceptual language—one that carries its own grammar, rhythm, and agency. Moving beyond conventional definitions of craft, the exhibition positions textile as an active field of relations, where material, gesture, and meaning continuously interact and co-produce experience.

Through diverse material explorations and techniques, the participating artists reveal the polyphonic nature of textile practice. Their works weave together layers of Lithuanian cultural memory, mythic imagination, and ecological awareness, while also engaging with the intimate textures of everyday life and embodied perception. The exhibition unfolds through four distinct yet interconnected micro-narratives, forming a spatial and dialogic environment.

Hosted by Artudio, this exhibition reflects its ongoing commitment to fostering international artistic exchange and situating Nepal within wider contemporary art dialogues. The opening will be held in the presence of Her Excellency Diana Mickevičienė, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Nepal, marking a meaningful moment of cultural connection between Lithuania and Nepal.
