Kathmandu – Under the grant assistance of the Government of India, memorandums of understanding have been signed between the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of Nepal, and relevant implementing agencies to advance five high-impact community development projects in Nepal’s education and health sectors.

The total estimated cost of these projects is around three hundred and ninety million Nepali rupees. The five projects include the construction of:
-
Shree Janashakti Secondary School building in Bateshwar Rural Municipality of Dhanusha,
-
Shree Mahuwani Padma Secondary School in Pokhariya Municipality of Parsa,
-
Shree Basuki Secondary School in Mellekh Rural Municipality of Achham,

-
A five-bed hospital building in Nasong Rural Municipality of Manang.
These projects will be implemented through local government bodies, including municipalities and rural municipalities, as well as other relevant institutions of the Government of Nepal.

According to the Indian Embassy in Nepal, the construction of these infrastructures will support improved access to education and healthcare for the people of Nepal. Since the year two thousand three, including these five newly signed projects, the Government of India has taken forward five hundred seventy-nine high-impact community development projects across Nepal. Out of these, four hundred ninety-six projects have already been completed, benefiting all seven provinces of Nepal in sectors such as health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation, and public utility infrastructure. The remaining projects are in various stages of progress.

As a close neighbor, India and Nepal enjoy a broad and multi-sectoral partnership. The implementation of these high-impact projects reflects India’s continued commitment to support Nepal’s efforts in empowering its people and expanding infrastructure in areas of national priority.
