Kathmandu- The Women’s Empowerment Recognition Ceremony was successfully held at the Sangam Vihar office of senior BJP leader Dr. Vijay Jolly, with great simplicity. On this occasion, Dr. Jolly honored South Delhi District BJP President, Mrs. Maya Bisht, by presenting her with a shawl, a memento, and flowers.
The Chief Guest for the event was South Delhi Member of Parliament, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. Also, as distinguished guests, Sangam Vihar MLA Chandan Kumar Chaudhary and Devli Municipal Councillor Mrs. Anita Singhal were honored for being selected as the Deputy Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation.
Present at the event were the current presidents of Sangam Vihar 169-C and Devli Sangam Vihar BJP Mandal, Chandraprakash Yadav and Mrs. Balvinder Kaur, respectively.
The event organizers, BJP leaders Mrs. Shalu Kumari and Mrs. Dolly Jeenwal, added a special touch to the atmosphere by draping BJP scarves on hundreds of attendees, making the environment feel completely BJP-centric.
Member of Parliament Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, during his speech, said, “Soon, after completing all government formalities through online registration, every woman in Delhi will receive ₹2500 per month in their bank accounts.”
He further provided details about the steps the government has taken for women’s empowerment over the past 11 years. These include the 33% women’s reservation in Parliament, 10 crore LPG connections under the Ujjwala scheme, the Lakhpati Didi scheme, maternity leave extended from 12 to 26 weeks with salary, ₹18,593 crore assistance for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, 4.2 crore accounts for women under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, 73% of houses under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme being in women’s names, 68% of accounts under the Prime Minister’s Mudra Scheme in women’s names, 74% of the beneficiaries under the Stand-Up India Scheme being women entrepreneurs, and permanent commissions for women in the Armed Forces, among others.
The event began with a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the souls of the passengers who tragically lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash.
