Doti- In a bid to reduce the excessive use of chemical fertiliser in farming system, organic farming is being implemented in the districts of Sudurpaschim Province. This move is aimed reducing the impacts of chemical fertilisers through the promotion of organic farming system.

At an interaction programme organised by Sudurpaschim Agricultural Development Directorate at Rajpur of Dipayal district on Monday, Director Yagyaraj Joshi shared that jobs have been started in all nine districts by allocating Rs 40 million for organic farming system. Officials said that the organic farming system was stressed to minimise the increasing impacts of chemical fertiliser.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Doti, Bhim Prasad Bhattarai, said that organic production could be encouraged through the maintenance of quality of soil, more income generation, ensuring environmental balance and utlisation of locally available resources. RSS
