GPK memorial gold cup football title to Biratnagar

Biratnagar has won the title of second edition of Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Gold Cup Football Championship. Bindabasini Football Club Biratnagar defeated Birgunj United Bara 1-0 to clinch the title in the championship held here on Wednesday. Inaruwa municipality and Pratibimba Nepal jointly organized the championship. Bindabasini Football Club’s striker Samat made a decisive goal to register the win in the final. Samat netted the goal in 28th minutes of second half. Besides title, Biratnagar has bagged a shield and cash prize of Rs 200,000. Likewise, first-runner-up Bara has received cash prize of Rs 100,000. Eight football teams had participated in the championship.
