Kathmandu-  Ncell has partnered with Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. in Nepal, to provide connected vehicle services powered by Ncell’s Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity.

Under the partnership, compatible BYD vehicles sold in Nepal will come equipped with an embedded Ncell IoT SIM, enabling direct in-vehicle internet connectivity without the need to connect a mobile phone or rely on a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The service will support the BYD App ecosystem and connected infotainment features, allowing users to access online services such as YouTube, Spotify, Karaoke and other digital entertainment directly through the vehicle’s system.

Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta said the partnership would bring smart connectivity, infotainment, security and intelligent mobility features to BYD vehicles, providing customers with a smoother and more convenient connected driving experience.

The service will also benefit existing BYD vehicle owners. Customers can visit any of BYD’s authorized service centers across 13 locations in Nepal to have an Ncell IoT SIM installed in their vehicles and access supported connected features.

Cimex Inc. CEO Sahil Shrestha said the partnership with Ncell would further enhance the ownership experience for BYD customers by providing reliable in-vehicle connectivity and enabling them to make better use of the intelligent features of BYD vehicles.

The availability of specific features, connectivity plans, validity and charges will depend on the vehicle model, software version and applicable service package. Connectivity and user experience may also vary depending on network coverage, location and vehicle configuration.
