New Delhi – With the arrival of the monsoon month of Sawan, the traditional festival of Hariyali Teej was celebrated in Delhi with full color, devotion, and cultural fervor. The 16th Hariyali Teej Festival organized by the Delhi Study Group took place at the PSOI Club in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The event saw enthusiastic participation from dignitaries, diplomats, and cultural enthusiasts.

Under the leadership of Delhi Study Group President, former MLA, and Global India Brand Ambassador Dr. Vijay Jolly, the event showcased the rich glory of Indian culture and promoted deeper cultural connection among the masses. Women adorned in colorful sarees, bangles, and mehendi danced joyfully to the beats of Gujarati Dandiya and Bollywood songs, transforming the atmosphere into a vibrant celebration of Teej.

The event was inaugurated by Delhi Government Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh and Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Speaking on the occasion, they emphasized the importance of the message “Plant a Tree in Mother’s Name”, and remarked that Hariyali Teej is a festival celebrating our cultural heritage, honoring family, traditions, and the role of women. Such events strengthen cultural awareness in society.

Dr. Jolly stated in his address, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s cultural identity has gained new global recognition. This celebration is an effort to preserve and enliven the cultural soul of India.”

Renowned singer Prem Bhatia performed melodious Bollywood songs. Shashi Verma and team presented a colorful Gujarati Dandiya dance. Devotional dances depicting Radha-Krishna and Shiva-Parvati captivated the audience.

Among the prominent attendees were NDMC Vice-Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal, BJP National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam, former Union Ministers Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and Vijay Goel, former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Mehrauli MLA Gajendra Singh Yadav, former MLA Mahendra Nagpal, Romanian Consul in India Vijay Mehta, Corporation Chairperson Yogita Singh, BJP Mahila Morcha President Richa Pandey, and South Delhi BJP District President Maya Bisht, among others. Diplomats from countries including Nepal, Mozambique, Togo, Germany, Sri Lanka, Korea, Poland, Czech Republic, Oman, and Mauritius added an international flavor to the event.

The delicious food arrangements, including chaat, pakoras, besan cheela, golgappas, puri-aloo, palak paneer, chole-chawal, and jal jeera, were managed by Delhi Study Group Vice President Gopal Garg. Treasurer Anil Jindal (CA) offered guests traditional sweets like ghevar.

Key office bearers of the Delhi Study Group such as Bhupender Kansal, Ram Gopal Goel, Yogesh Tandon, Gajendra Solanki, Vikul Bansal, K.S. Duggal, Dr. Ashok Sharma, Jaykishan Gupta, Naseem Khan, Dr. Shipra Bharadwaj, Subhash Nagar, Shalu Kumari, and Vijender Yadav were present. Promotion and publicity were handled effectively by Vice President Mukesh Gupta, while the event was emceed by former Mayor and General Secretary (Organization) Narendra Kumar Chawla. The traditional green dupattas and colorful bangles were arranged by Meera Tongriya.

This 16th edition of Hariyali Teej was not only a celebration but also a powerful platform to preserve and propagate Indian traditions among the people.
