KATHMANDU-  Indian Cultural Relations Council (ICCR) President Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe has come to visit Nepal. According to the Indian Embassy, ​​he arrived in Nepal on May 12 and will continue to visit Nepal.

In this context, Sahasrabuddhe also paid a courtesy call on President Vidyadevi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Hon’ble Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel on Thursday and discussed issues related to promotion of cultural ties and strengthening of educational exchanges between the two countries.

He also spoke to more than 200 members of the Contact India-Nepal Alumni Network, which connects other Nepali students, including those studying in India, under the ICCR Scholarship. Addressing the alumni, he discussed the important role played by Nepali students in strengthening Nepal-India relations.

 

To discuss the special initiatives and role that ICCR can play, Dr. According to the embassy, ​​Sahasrabuddhe will meet with leading academics and scholars, including the Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Lumbini Buddhist University and the Director of Nepal and the Asian Research Center (SINAS).

During the visit, Sahasrabuddhe also participated in the inaugural program of ‘International Yoga Day 2022’ organized by Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center at Pashupatinath under the Embassy of India, Kathmandu in collaboration with Pashupati Area Development Fund and Patanjali Yogpeeth as a program of ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’.

The program was attended by about 150 yoga connoisseurs from Patanjali Yogpeeth, Kathmandu.
