The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is preparing to produce electricity from the country’s largest solar plant system based in Nuwakot district in the next two months. The construction of the 25-MW solar plant has neared the completion and the NEA plans to produce energy within mid-May as per the energy mix concept. Works are on the progress to produce the 15 MW electricity, out of the total 25, by mid-May, the NEA said. The plant has been placed in the land in the name of NEA-owned Devighat Electricity Center and power to be generated from it will be directly connected to the national grid. However, the plants will be capable of producing power only during the sunshine as it has not been backed up by batteries.
