Gaushala – The torrential rainfall last night has inundated Jaleswor jail –the joint prison of Mahottari, Dhanusha and Sarlahi districts.

The 160-year-old Rana-era Jaleswor jail is located at lowland in Jaleswor municipality-2 which makes it a prone to inundation every year, shared jailor Shovendra Thakur.

Water has gushed into the prison chief’s chamber and staff administration room, said jail security guard Shree Narayan Mahato.

Meanwhile, property worth Rs 800,000 gutted in a fire that caught a house at Matihani municipality this morning.

The fire turned into ashes the house of Bipin Kumar Lalkarna of the municipality, said DSP Khagendra Bahadur Khadka at District Police Office, Mahottari. (RSS)
