Journalist Dhakal to be awarded

Bhadrapur – This year’s ‘Shyam Krishna Upadhyay Memorial Journalism Award’ is to be conferred on Jhapa-based journalist Laxman Dhakal. The award carrying a purse of Rs 15,550 will be presented to senior journalist Dhakal on coming September 1.

He has been in the journalism since 2034 BS- pursuing this career being associated to the Bishwadeep literary magazine. The award was instituted by Aabha Kumari Upadhyaya in memory of her beloved late father, said an organisation formed to deal with the award related matters.

So far over 12 journalists from province 1 have received the award. (RSS)
