Kathmandu – President of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the participants of 18th Asian Games from Paragliding Games for the training in Jakarta Batudwa, Indonesia.
The 8 athletes and 1 coach will go to Punkak, Indonesia for the Asian Games in 17th August, 2018. Paragliding had previously won in the Pre World Cup in 2016 in team event Cross Country in Jakarta Batudwa, Sumedang; in 2017 in Pune, Panchagani their team won again in the same event.
In 2018 Paragliding won a bronze medal in Pre World cup 2018 in Linzhou, Chaina in Individual cross country. President Shrestha praised the development of Paragliding as a sport and encouraged the participants to perform better and target the gold medal in Asian games.
Participants list: Athletes: Bijay Gautam, Bishal Thapa, Yukesh Gurung, Sushil Gurung, Bimal Adhikari, Prativa Bhujel, Sabita Tamang, Trisha Shrestha Bomjan Coaches: Yogesh Bhattarai Sano Babu Sunwar(Coach) and Sailendra Rawat( Official) will join the crew in 15th August 2018.
