Kathmandu, July 24 : The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has shared that the laws related to the fundamental rights and model laws of local governance have been formulated in the past four months.
At a press conference organized here today, Law Minister Sher Bahadur Tamang shared that the Ministry has formulated laws related to all fundamental rights and 17 model provincial laws and justice committee operation working procedure at local level during the past four months.
He further informed that the ministry has already given approval to frame laws in over 18 themes required for the implementation of the Constitution.
Saying that he had submitted his property details upon assuming the ministerial berth, he stressed that all public officials should present their assets. “Any person bearing public post should submit their property details for good governance of the country. The related laws should be amended to bring about reforms in judiciary”, the minister noted.
At the same event, the Minister also announced resignation from his post, after his remarks about Nepali girl students in Bangladesh drew flak from the public at large.
