Kathmandu– Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju hit screens today and has opened to superlative reviews. But who does Vicky Kaushal play in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer? Looks like the fans of Gulshan Grover are as excited to find out. Details inside.
Ever since it was announced that Rajkumar Hirani is making a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, the fans have been curious to get their hands on anything and everything concerning the film. Ranbir Kapoor steps into Dutt’s shoes for the film, Dia Mirza plays his wife Maanayata Dutt, Manisha Koirala is Nargis Dutt and Paresh Rawal is his father Sunil Dutt. And while Anushka Sharma plays a biographer, Sonam Kapoor represents one of Dutt’s “love affair”.
But not much is known about the characters of Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh. And Gulshan Grover, who shares an extremely close bond with Dutt, is reportedly as curious for his fans to find out who is playing him in the film.
While it was speculated that Vicky Kaushal is playing Grover in the film, there has been no confirmation on it yet. According to a report in Times of India, Grover has had people walk up to him at airport lobbies, award shows and other functions to ask him if Vicky’s character is inspired by Grover. To which, he reportedly said that he will have an answer only after they watch the film.
The report also states that when Ranbir and Grover boarded the same flight once, Ranbir had said that he’d invite him for the film screening and Grover had responded that he will watch the first day first show to watch Dutt’s life unfold on the big screen.
Grover also took to Instagram last night and shared a throwback photograph with Sanjay Dutt. He captioned the image as, “Film Sanju , in cinemas tomorrow.”
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film has released in 4,000 screens pan India and if initial reviews are to be believed, the film is off to a massive start.
