The Metropolitan Traffic Police has recovered half million rupees a person lost in a taxi and returned to its owner.
The police found the money following investigation that led to tracking of the taxi mobility captured by the CCTV.
Birghadhan Rai, originally from Solukhumbu, had lost the money in a taxi while going to Bagbazar from Kapan Tuesday morning.
Immediately after Rai learnt that he lost the money in the taxi, he informed the police. In response, the Metropolitan Traffic Police began tracking the movement of the taxis with the help of CCTV footage and finally impounded the taxi with the number Ba 1 Ja 1275.
When the police took under control taxi driver Om Prasad Dotel and inquired him about the money. He admitted that he found the money.
Senior Superintendent of Police Bishworaj Pokhrel handed the amount to the owner.
