Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government would take action against those who attack the national integrity and security of the nation.

PM Oli said so while addressing the 17th secretariat meeting of the National Security Council at Singha Durbar in the Capital on Monday.

“The government will not remain a mute spectator if anyone tries to obstruct the national reconstruction mega campaign under various pretexts,” PM Oli said. He warned that the government will not spare anyone who incites violence in the name of religion, language, caste or creed.

“We have to be alert from those people who detonate bombs, talk about division and incite violence in the name of religion at a time when the nation is moving ahead on the path of prosperity,” he said.

Saying that the National Security Council had played a vital role during the conflict era and blockade, PM Oli said that the Council’s role is to protect the sovereignty of Nepal.

Moreover, he said that the Nepal Army has witnessed different types of ups and downs adding that the Army has always stood in favour of national interests.

“National Security Council and Nepal Army should be made strong from the inside,” he said.

Defence Minister Ishwor Pokharel and Finance Minister Yuvaraj Khatiwada among others were present in the programme.
