Kathmandu- A building constructed with the grant assistance of the Government of India has been inaugurated by the duo of Shree Faud Singh Janata Higher Secondary School, Lalbandi Municipality-17, Raniganj, Sarlahi District.

The two-storey building of Shree Fouad Singh Janata Madhyamik Vidyalaya was jointly inaugurated on June 11, 2022 by the Minister for Social Development of Madhes, Nawal Kishore Sah (Sudi) and the Consul General of India, Nitesh Kumar. The school building has been constructed under India’s grant assistance program in the field of education. The program was attended by local people’s representatives, office bearers, people of Raniganj and other stakeholders.

The project, constructed at a cost of Rs 2.7.83 million, is one of the 75 projects to be inaugurated in Nepal this year under the ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’, which marks 75 years of India’s independence. The new school building will create an environment for education in rural areas and support the development of education in Sarlahi district.

Under the Nepal-India Development Cooperation, a grant from the Government of India has been used for the construction of a two-storey school building with fifteen classrooms, two stairs and sanitation facilities.

Since 2003, India has undertaken 527 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal. In all seven provinces, 472 projects have been completed in the areas of construction of health, education, drinking water, access, sanitation and other public facilities.

Out of them, 20 projects are in Sarlahi district. Apart from these, the Government of India has donated 31 ambulances and a school bus to various health post NGOs in Sarlahi district.

This project is a testament to the multifaceted, strong and strong development partnership between India and Nepal in various fields. As close neighbors, India and Nepal share extensive and multi-sectoral cooperation.

The implementation of this project reflects the Government of India’s continued commitment to support Nepal’s socio-economic development and its physical infrastructure, especially in the education sector.
