Kathmandu – Nepal’s hip-hop scene is set to enter a new phase with the launch of ‘Hustle by NepHop,’ a premium rap reality show being brought to Nepal by Malin Media.

The show is based on the Indian franchise MTV Hustle and will be broadcast on a Nepali television channel. It is expected to become one of the first dedicated national platforms focused entirely on Nepal’s hip-hop music, artists and culture.

Nepali hip-hop has evolved significantly over the years, moving from underground cyphers to sold-out concerts and millions of online views. Once considered a niche genre, hip-hop has now become one of Nepal’s most-followed forms of music, with emerging artists building large audiences.

‘Hustle by NepHop’ will follow a reality-show format combining competition, mentorship and raw talent while focusing on Nepal’s own voices, stories and cultural references.

The show also comes at a time when Nepali artists are increasingly reaching audiences beyond the country’s borders. The launch of a dedicated hip-hop platform is being viewed as a sign of the genre’s growing influence and long-term potential in Nepal’s music industry.

The program aims to provide both established rappers and emerging artists with a national platform to showcase their skills. Through a combination of performances, storytelling and competition, ‘Hustle by NepHop’ will highlight the diversity and depth of talent within Nepal’s growing hip-hop community.
